The scholarships are through the Township Officials of Illinois. Applicants must be graduating seniors from an Illinois High School with a grade point average of “B” or higher. Each applicant must have demonstrated an active interest in school activities, which may include an interest in local government and community service.
Students are required to submit a 500 word essay on “The Role of Local Government in Today’s Society and in the Future.” Applications are available at the DeKalb Township Office, 2323 S. Fourth Street or by contacting the Supervisor’s office at 815-758-8282.
Scholarship applications are closed for 2011. Applications for the high school class of 2012 will be available starting in December of 2011.
